Yes, that's definitely a simpler path. That's how in fact I've been doing it for the last couple years. A camera sits under a single servo that automatically rotates 10 degrees and takes a photos every 15 seconds (with gentLED microchip). It goes until the memory fills up or the battery runs out, or the wind dies. The cons are that the tilt of the camera is manually set before you send it up. Sometimes when you have good altitude, the camera is facing away from the target. Also, most shots are not that great because of swinging camera, so more shots on actual target will help i hope. I had way too many servos around the house from RC plane disasters anyway.

Given how big sd cards are these days, wouldn't it be simpler to have a camera that just took a picture every 60 seconds? That way you can focus on the journey. And you'd have a great animation.
